Privacy policy

This policy explains how Loanster handles personal information in line with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 and its information privacy principles. Last updated 27 September 2026.

Who we are

Loanster is operated by Leadsource International Manager Limited (NZBN 9429047325371), referred to here as "Loanster", "we" or "us". You can contact us about privacy on 03 667 4222.

What we collect

  • Enquiry details you give us through our online form or by phone — for example your name, phone number, email, business name and structure, NZBN, trading history, the purpose and amount of funding, and property details.
  • Information from our conversations, including notes a lending specialist makes about your circumstances.
  • Application information if you decide to proceed, such as identification, bank statements and details of existing lending.
  • Website data such as pages visited, device and browser type, collected through standard server logs and, if enabled, analytics cookies.

Our calculators run in your browser. We don't collect or store the numbers you type into them.

Why we collect it

  • To respond to your enquiry and call you back.
  • To understand your needs and identify suitable business funding options.
  • To pass your application to lending partners if you ask us to.
  • To meet our legal obligations, including anti-money laundering requirements where they apply.
  • To improve our website, tools and service.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only as needed for the purposes above, which may include:

  • Lending partners we introduce you to, with your agreement, so they can assess your application. Lenders may carry out credit checks with credit reporters as part of their own assessment, under their own privacy terms.
  • Service providers who help us run our business — for example our form, telephony, hosting and customer-management providers — who are required to protect your information.
  • Professional advisers and authorities where required or permitted by law.

Some service providers may store information outside New Zealand. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure the information is protected in a way comparable to the Privacy Act 2020.

How we store and protect it

We use reasonable security safeguards to protect personal information against loss, unauthorised access, use, modification or disclosure. We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes it was collected for, or as required by law.

Your rights

You can ask to access the personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it. To make a request, call us on 03 667 4222. We may need to verify your identity before we respond. We'll respond within the time frames set by the Privacy Act 2020.

Cookies and analytics

Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to understand how visitors use it, for example through Google Analytics. You can control cookies in your browser settings. Blocking them won't stop the site's tools from working.

Complaints

If you have a concern about how we've handled your personal information, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it. If you're not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.
