Three routes
Secured, unsecured or a line of credit — what's the difference?
Almost every business loan in New Zealand comes down to one question: is it backed by property, or by how the business trades? Here's how our three routes compare.
Not sure? The which loan fits picker ranks all three for your situation in about 30 seconds.

Quick answers
What does Loanster do?
Loanster helps New Zealand businesses work out what funding they need and find it. We publish a plain-English loan library and free planning tools, and our lending specialists find property-secured loans, unsecured loans and lines of credit for business purposes.
How much can I borrow?
Property-secured business loans run from $20,000 up to $1m, secured on NZ property you or a supporting party own. Unsecured loans and lines of credit are based on your turnover and bank statements.
Will enquiring affect my credit score?
No. Enquiring is free, takes about 60 seconds and doesn't affect your credit score. A lending specialist calls you back to talk through options.
Who can apply?
Sole traders, companies, partnerships and trusts can apply. Loanster only helps with business-purpose lending — not personal or consumer loans.
What interest rate will I pay?
Every loan is priced on your individual circumstances — the security, purpose, amount and how it will be repaid. We look for the sharpest option available for your situation rather than publishing a rate card.
